Mala Latchmi Nivedita Sharma-Singh was born in London, England. Mala migrated to Canada in 1970. Her Father is a Prominent Toronto Lawyer Roopnarine Sharma and her mother Dhani Sharma worked with the Ministry of the Attorney General's office. Mala attended York University where she studied Political Science and Sociology. Mala graduated from CDI College with Honours as an Immigration Consultant.
Mala began her successfully career working for the Provincial Government of Canada at the Old City Hall Chief Judge's Office where she did Law Research for 52 Judges. Mala then began a successful career with the Federal Government of Canada in the Department of Citizenship and Immigration as an Immigration Counselor Asst and an Immigration Officer for 25 years. Mala processed thousands of cases under Family Class, Humanitarian and Compassionate, Refugees, Visitor Permits, Work Permits, Caregivers. Mala conducted Landing Ceremonies and Citizenship Ceremonies for thousands of clients during her employment with Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Mala has received the Federal Government Public Service and Loyalty award by the Prime Minister of Canada for her work with the federal Government of Canada. Mala has been involved with many Political Campaigns and has successfully raised funds for many Canadian politicians. Mala is a community influencer and activist and has been involved in many worthwhile charities such as the United Way, Heart and Stroke, the Canadian Cancer Society and Sick Children's Hospital.
Mala is also a Casting Director for Local and International Films shot in Canada. Mala produced, directed and hosted television shows on ATN and two other shows on City TV and Global television Network. Mala founded South Asian Model and Talent Agency to promote Canadian talent and launched the careers of many international artists. Mala was awarded Excellence in Global Impact and Global Excellence in Leadership in Arts and Entertainment.
Mala currently is the Director of Sharma-Singh Immigration Services Inc. she currently represents clients Globally as a Canadian Regulated Immigration Consultant (RCIC}. Mala has excellent written and verbal communication skills and uses her experience as a former Immigration Officer to professionally guide and represent her clients.
